WORK ACCORDING TO PURPOSE II: MONEY PURPOSE VERSUS PEOPLE PURPOSE BUSINESS

Good Morning TEZreaders, Hope you had a fantastic night rest?
I said we are going to have illustrations and live example of money purpose business and people purpose business. Although, that is not the post meant for today, I have to post this so it doesn’t spill over to next week Wednesday.
please continue after the cut.......

Illustration 1: A Money Purpose Business:
A money purpose business is a project set up with the sole aim of making profits, having little or no regard for consumer’s needs and satisfaction. This category of business in most cases extorts clients, especially when they are left with no choice but to patronize them. Some say it is business opportunity but I call it fraud. Most people who set up this type of establishments have little or no concern for the benefactors of their businesses; they care less about proper packaging as that will mean spending more money. They make no room for proper feedback and will be really upset if any negative comment about services rendered is passed.
This type of business is mostly found in poor countries where hunger is the order of the day. Survival instinct makes you look for something doing so you can earn enough to buy your next meal. At this point, you do not care if you are giving the best of values; the most important thing is you have some funds to survive.
It is quite unfortunate that the principles governing success wouldn’t change because of the circumstances surrounding you. The laws of nature are static. It won’t change to conform to you; rather you change to conform to it in other to get the benefits there in.
The irony about this which so many people do not know is so long as you continue to work for money, you will never have enough, you will always be in greater need, your earning will always be too small for your expenses no matter how much you earn.
A live example for this category is our leaders; our political leaders. It is a known fact to the entire world that many African country’s major crises is bad governance and corruption.
This is where you will find politicians sending death threats to one another, getting fetish all in the name of they want to ‘serve’. When the seat goes to the opposing party, rather than supporting the winning party in moving the country to a greater height, they will look for faults in the leader.
This is where you will see people commit murder and suicide because they lost the election. Their hope of getting rich is gone.
Another example are the winning political parties who believe the ruling seat is their father’s property and they share major project contract amongst themselves rather than giving it to real organizations with such expertise, disregarding how many citizens are in danger of losing lives if project is not well and carefully executed. This system of governance has been exercised by different leaders and rather than a better and growing economy by the day, the result is a dilapidating economy. In this type of system, there can never be a successful project embarked on by the government and will still be sustained 20 years after.
I tag people in this category the poorest people in the world even if they are ranked the richest by social ranking but that is a major topic for another day.

Illustration 2: A People Purpose Business:
This is a type of Business set up with the major aim of rendering services, meeting people’s needs, giving value in exchange for the reward (money). It is a direct opposite of money purpose business.
Here, customer service and quality services rendering are key and basic for running the daily activities of the project. Feedback, criticism and praises are taken seriously and are use as guide for delivering future services. Meeting needs is their topmost priority.
Businesses in this category need not worry about money because it is only natural for people to pay for services rendered. It is a law of Nature that when you give, it will come back to you in more values than you give.
This category of people hardly fails in their endeavors.
A live example is the city of Dubai. I am sure most of you know what I am talking about.  15 years ago Dubai was just a regular city like the rest of the world, with no special accolade to it. But today, you are obviously living inside a hole in an extremely remote area if you haven’t heard about the beautiful city. This is a city that was rebuilt with the goal of giving the best to its citizens and visitors from around the world. A city that didn’t set its standard based on achievements of developed nations in terms of quality service rendering rather chose to set the pace.
Today even citizens of nations with the best of resources feel incomplete without visiting Dubai.
This city is home to the world tallest structure, a design that has been approved of long before Dubai became popular, a structure that was part of the plan when the city was going to be rebuilt. Today (years after planning) it has seen the light of day and it is one of the most talked about structures in the world

If I continue writing about this city, I do not think I can finish before fatigue sets in.

If you want to know more about the city of Dubai and emulate its success pattern, read the book written by its Ruler; My Vision: Challenges in the Race for Excellence by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

I know a lot of us would have been expecting business examples. I chose to use this to make readers understand that entrepreneurial skills is needed in every aspect of our lives and not just in business.
