WORK ACCORDING TO PURPOSE

Hello TEZreaders, how is the day coming? I got a remarkable funny response from the ‘ADD’ write up I posted yesterday. Well, just as I expected, a lot of people in Africa didn’t know such existed.
The good news is on this blog, we will change your story. You are going to move from I had nothing to I have in abundance all with the power of information.
I am continuing my discussion on Life with a purpose and today’s titled working according to purpose.

A TEZreader asked me a question, wanting to know if purpose is the same as talent or gift in this context. And I promised to answer in my next article.
Purpose means to do something with a reason, an intention or a plan. Purpose is different from talent of Gift but a purpose helps you deliver you gift, talent or skill in the right direction. Identifying your purpose helps easily identify what you can do best with your talent.
I simply believe that every man was created for the purpose of benefiting another man. I believe no man exist for himself. Your life is too big to exist just for yourself alone. Every successful man knows it and that is the number one secret to their success.
In Nigeria, especially the western part, there is a popular acronym we use ‘O.Y.O’ meaning ‘On Your Own’. This I will boldly say is part of what is causing regression in some areas of our lives. The beginning of failure is when you believe you can do it all by yourself. If you can do it all by yourself, why then do you buy clothes to wear? How about you make your clothes yourself, make your bath soap yourself, plant the food you will eat all your life, build the car you will drive, the house you live even the toothpaste and toothbrush you use all by yourself and see how far you will possibly go in life.
Every man was born for the benefit of another. Life is a symbiotic relationship, No man can live a fruitful life without the help of another directly or indirectly.
That is where purpose comes into play. You have a role to play in my success just as I have a role to play in yours and so is everybody else. Nothing you have is for your benefit alone but also for others.
Simply put; a life without purpose is a greedy life.
Some people were born to sing, some to dance, some to play the instrument, and some to listen, watch and cheer.  Some were born to act, while some to watch (like me). Without the likes of me, there wouldn’t be the likes of Brad Pitt, Genevieve, Ramsey Noah, etc, Cinemas wouldn’t even exist.
This principle of symbiotic relationship is the same and effective in our business life. There are two Major types of purposes in the business sector which should come to effect in a particular arrangement. If gotten wrong, it will destroy the entire business before it starts.
1.     The purpose of satisfying another man’s need (People Purpose)
2.     The purpose of making money. (Money Purpose)
If purpose 2 becomes your 1 then you are up for failure.
It is amazing how you have a lot of SMEs in this part of the world that remains SMEs after 5 – 10 years of establishment. A belief of we need no one’s help, ‘we can do it all (everyman on his own, God for us all)’ is what is destroying our potentials to succeed. In every man is embedded a seed of success; you will either succeed in your business or succeed in failing your business depending on how you arrange your purpose.
A provision store starts with a shop as small as the size of a window and after 5years, it has grown to just the size of a door and you call that progress? Is that success? Lol.
If you got the purpose of establishing the store right from the very beginning, in 5years you should have grown to the size of a hypermarket with branches all over town.
A people purpose business always overtakes and outlasts a money purpose business.
Learn to work according to the right purpose.
Tomorrow we will do a major illustration of money purpose business and a people purpose business with live examples.
Understanding your purpose of existence is the key to success in everything.
I will recommend we get this book: The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
